Still Alive and Rockin'

Yes, well, so the exams officially ended an hour and a half ago, during which I've giddily consumed a McFlurry's (they sell 'em TINY in Spore, such a ripoff) and merrily told everybody that my exams are over, in capital letters over MSN. Most of them said congrats, and one or two (that haven't finished their exams yet) expressed messages of deep and long-lasting hate and jealousy. So fun. Anyway, so now I have two packets of TimTams waiting to be eaten, two bottles of Bacardi Breezers to be drunk--yes, I know they're only very mildly alcoholic and are generally considered a little child's drink amongst the alcoholically-experienced, but to heck with general opinion--and a pack of sugar biscuits that's at least one year old to open and consume with great gusto and as much instant coffee as I can stand to drink in one sitting. What? I deserve to be hyper now. Bouncing off the walls and suchlike, although I must admit a celebration is much more festive when t

Random Short Post

I fell asleep yesterday at 9pm when I got sleepy enough that my laptop screen was a meaningless blur and it actually took energy to focus on words. I woke up sometime in the wee hours when my roommate decided to fall asleep and turn his desk lamp off--I'm still awfully photosensitive, which is why no natural sunlight ever permeates the interior of my room. I woke at 8-plus this morning, so I got about 11 hours of sleep. And I'm still yawning. And it's now 11-plus in the morning and guess how much I've studied for tomorrow's Anatomy/Physiology? Nothing at all, that's what. I was planning to, but I got sidetracked and am now randomly chatting to a bunch of people while reading their blogs (which I found by Googling their usernames). Public forum chats, IRC-style, are quite interesting sometimes, even if the semi-anonymity of the Internet does complicate things with random hate and suchlike. And, of course, just because you all like the same things doesn't mean

1. What's your favorite anime at the present time? I read manga. I don't watch anime. 2. Given the chance, what special ability/power would you like to have? What, I only get to choose one? This'll be tough, but I'll settle for the ability to absorb information osmotically and perfectly retain it. Exam period you know, some people happen to be surrounded in books and oodles of printed knowledge. 3. What do you think about yourself? I don't, but when I do, I get depressed. 4. Where is the place that you want to go the most? All places are pretty much the same, it's the people you're with that make those places special. But I wouldn't mind standing in the eye of a tornado and watching stuff fly around me while I was perfectly calm. I also like standing in wide open spaces while it's storming around me. 5. If you can have 1 dream to come true, what would it be? I don't remember my dreams, and when I do they're usually not good ones, so... I'

Timely

God cheats. I declare He does. You go for a Math exam on Friday and it is rotten, you prepare yourself for a whole weekend of moping and mourning, and what does He do? Send you peanut butter cookies and arrange a whole session of worship in church to cheer you up. It was a very timely reminder. And now I have Physics to study for; the exam is in 24 hours. Fortunately my notes on it are all done so that's one less item on the to-do list. Of course I won't be able to do it all by myself. I think that's what the reminder yesterday was for: to let me know that I'm not here by myself anyway. Because His grace is sufficient for me. What do I need but what He supplies?

Just Keep Trying Til You Run Out of Cake

I love depressing songs lately. I don't know why. More specifically, Dave Matthews Band and one of Jonathan Coulter's tunes: Still Alive. Lots of stuff agonising about what we are and how depressing it is, while Still Alive has just the right touch of mad-scientistry about it that makes me sing along every single time I hear it. It's even more addictive than the Hairspray soundtrack was, and as a consequence is right now at the top of my playlist. Anyway... exams have begun, and with them my sleepless nights; I've slept like 3 hours in the past 24 hours, and I think I'm growing eyebags. What's actually more worrying is the possibility that I'm committing self-harm in my sleep, because I woke up with a bitten tongue--it even hurts to drink water!--and a laceration on my inner upper lip that is suspiciously the exact same shape as the nearest pair of teeth. I wonder, really. (This occurred during a two-hour nap: 4.30am to 6.30am.) Now? The Math is past. Just p

Three Weeks to Eyebags

No, I don't have eyebags yet. I think. But it's a pretty good bet that by the time May 1st rolls around, I will... at least, I'll have eyebags unless I go on a snooze binge every now and then. Last week was horrid; three quizzes on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Even though we usually don't have classes on Saturday to begin with, the lecturer decided Saturday morning would be a nice time for the quiz so she could finish off the syllabus during the weekdays, though it's anybody's guess whether the weekday lectures were actually listened to. In any case I managed to pull off three days in a row of sleeping for 4 hours a day--3am to 7am every day--and then I snoozed off at 11pm on Saturday night for church the next morning. Believe you me, 11pm is a LOT earlier than I usually sleep, since my usual hours are 2am to 11am, if my alarm clock doesn't go off first. Well then... it's been hectic. It's probably just going to get more hectic, since I've ten
