Say Someday Somehow

It's not often I find a song I really like--usually you can tell what songs I like, if you happen to be incredibly nondescript and stalkerific, because I usually occupy the time I spend walking singing (under my breath! I do not contribute to noise pollution) whatever song happens to be on my mind, and it's probably this habit that leads to me having a pretty good command of the lyrics of any song I listen and like enough--also possibly due to me, when I'm paying attention to a song, almost always singing along. Crazy Scary quite possibly (by now) is sick of my playlist, because even when I've got the headset on I still sing along--and probably louder than usual since I can't hear myself that way. Perhaps it's just me, but I usually choke up a little bit at one of the lines from Jonathan Coulton's Code Monkey . It's basically a sad, sweet song about a site programmer (hence the "code monkey" of the title) who has a pretty rotten life that he pu

Executive Meddling Because Viewers Are Morons

Life goes on. Good? Sorta'... it's what, the second week of school now? Yeah, very nearly the end of the second week of school too, and so far nothing much of note has happened. I've been eating laoporbing and mooncakes and still haven't finished either of 'em... of course I'm sure I could finish 'em faster if I took 'em to school, except nobody quite likes to eat a whole mooncake on their own and one can't very well produce a knife in the middle of class to share out the thing, can one? And the laoporbing are too fragile to be brought around so easily--maybe I'll try, afterwards, and hope the gelatinous centre is enough to hold the little flaky crust together. I'll probably also try to walk really gently and hope it works--or, of course, I could catch the bus. Ten days since the last update! Well, like I said... nothing much has happened really, except that I've been having very little sleep for the past day or two and so am a bit tired-

Ba Na Na Na Naaaah

Where did I leave off? Let's see... ah yes, Western Peace, the coldest place on the itinerary this (or, in the interests of chronology, last) year; thankfully the itinerary didn't include any places with snow. Let me see... what happened next? I don't really remember... wait, ah yes, now I do remember. We flew back on the plane, collected our luggage from the appropriate conveyor belt, and went back to the little flat where we searched in vain for Oreo, who was at that moment in the driver's house--a certain amount of miscommunication and the driver's daughter's fondness for Oreo were the cause of that, and it was a few phone calls before we got it cleared up; in the interim, speculations involved everything from dognappers to Oreo having wandered off to find the pet shop to her having committed suicide by leaping from the balcony (we live on the fourth storey). Oreo was restored to the flat the next morning, however. The next few days were relatively eventless,
